On September 23-24, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Topical Issues of Ophthalmology” was held online. Among the many reports on various aspects of prevention and treatment of eye diseases, much attention was paid to myopia.
Iryna Mykhailivna Boichuk, MD, Professor of the Laboratory of Binocular Vision Disorder at the Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (Odesa), spoke about modern approaches to myopia treatment.
Effective treatment and prevention of progressive myopia as a multifactorial pathology requires a comprehensive medical approach. We should not forget about the importance of timely optical correction of myopia, as well as physical methods of influencing the motor and sensory mechanisms of accommodation.
