Modern concepts of pain and the possibility of overcoming it in general medical practice

The article presents modern ideas about the mechanisms of pain, clinical manifestations, and its varieties based on the latest published data of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP). As the nociceptive type of pain or its combination with neuropathic and nociplastic pain are the most common in clinical practice, the effectiveness of its treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) was analyzed, in particular, the modified non-selective cyclooxygenase inhibitor (COX) and its effectiveness in the treatment of acute pain compared to other NSAIDs. Various studies have shown that single and repeated doses of dexketoprofen trometamol provide effective analgesia in the treatment of acute pain of various origins and severity, as well as have favorable safety and tolerance profile that substantiates its widespread use both inpatient and ambulatory, including the use in polymorbid patients.
