In modern medicine, the structure of human diseases is represented by a huge number of nosologies, but pathological conditions of the bronchopulmonary system continue to hold a key position. According to statistics, the most common diseases in the world are respiratory diseases (44.3%), from common colds to pneumonia and tuberculosis (TB) [2, 17]. In the structure of disease prevalence among the Ukrainian population, respiratory diseases ranked 2nd (19.8%) after diseases of the circulatory system (31.0%). It is unfortunate that the dynamics of the prevalence and incidence of respiratory diseases hardly changes from year to year.
To study the efficacy of broad-spectrum antibiotics in resolving diagnostic issues at the outpatient stage of management of patients with bronchopulmonary differential diagnostic pathology, we chose an antibiotic from the macrolide group, namely azithromycin, Ziromin (World Medicine), release form – coated tablets in blisters No. 3, each tablet contains 500 mg of azithromycin. Azithromycin is considered to be one of the most effective drugs for the treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract infections, as it is highly active against the most likely bacterial pathogens of respiratory infections.
