Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the leading causes of mortality and disability in patients. According to WHO, about 1.4 million traumatic brain injuries are registered annually. Among the survivors of this type of pathology, only 10% can return to their previous work and only 2% are satisfied with the quality of life. Therefore, the improvement of diagnostics and the search for effective treatments for TBI are among the most important tasks of modern science and practice.
The topic of providing care to patients with TBI in the acute and recovery periods was discussed at the 10th anniversary conference “Carpathian Readings”, which took place on June 9-11 in Uzhgorod.
