Modern approaches to effective neurorehabilitation of patients who have suffered a stroke

Stroke remains a significant medical and socioeconomic problem. Approximately 30% of people who have had a stroke suffer from its long-term consequences, and half of the patients need outside help with daily activities. Taking into account these facts, as well as the fact that a stroke often leads to disability of able-bodied persons, the issues of effective post-stroke neurorehabilitation are extremely relevant.

On May 25, in Kharkiv, on the basis of the regional clinical hospital, the City Day of the Neurologist was held, within which topical issues of providing qualified medical care to patients with strokes and effective early post-stroke neurorehabilitation of such patients were considered.

Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery of the Kharkov Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education Valentina Alekseevna Yavorskaya in her report spoke about the importance of early neurorehabilitation of stroke patients.
