Summary
The paper deals with the results of the study of the effect of 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine succinate (Elfunat)
on erythroid lineage in patients with alcoholic liver cirrhosis and a history of gastroesophageal variceal bleeding. The
study compared the impact on the central nervous system and blood values. The results of this study are important for the
management of anemia and encephalopathy in this category of patients.
